olivia's story - super star special!

who likes olivia and wants to read a whole book about her? no one really. she's kind of boring. she's liz's mate and nothing else really. i don't even know why i picked this book up when there are so many other hilarious looking SVH's to read on my bookshelf. 

but actually, i kind of liked it! it was totally cute!

so we all know olivia dresses weird and does paintings and is kind of a mess. like she doesn't even have a boyfriend or anything. well guess what? she meets a guy who thinks she is a HOT mess! he's hot, but he's a starving artist and liv is like - oh crap, i like doing art works, but do i like it enough to live off one tea bag a day? she starts having serious doubts about not only her art, but her whole person and her outlook on life and THEN when her straight laced cousin emily arrives in town livvy is all like - damn i want to wear a suit and go to an office and buy cappuccinos every day!

so guess what though? emily meets james (the starving guy) and she gets THE HOTS FOR him! he's all starving and arty and that's like so hot right now. emily even starts wearing liv's clothes when she's not there and it's kind of creepy.

at first liv is digging the new her, she feels confident and like rich and successful and hot and stuff, but when james tells her she's being a total jerk she kind of realises that actually, she wants to wear a floaty skirt and do an artwork, but maybe still be able to buy a whole box of tea as well.

a lesson for us all here kids. be true to yourself but have enough money to buy stuff.

oh god this could not have been more boring. first up it's all about liz and todd. secondly it's about that todd is moving house and liz is sad.

*YAWN!!*

todd is a jerk anyway, and ever since i read sweet valley confidential i can't see todd as anything but a jerk, jock, cheater, dick and really, he is THE MOST BORING MAN in sweet valley. he doesn't have a convertible or a tennis court, all he does is he plays basketball and that's like ALL HE TALKS ABOUT.

i am so BORED of todd.

seriously.

the only thing that gets me through stories like this is that i know [MASSIVE SPOILER!!!!] that after all this liz ends up with bruce... except that jess ends up with [SUPER MASSIVE SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] todd. but that will probably last like 8 seconds so whatever.

one star because todd sucks. 

too much in love #22

it's been way too long since i read too much in love so i don't really remember it. it's one of those books that features the less interesting characters way too much and so you spend whole minutes of your life reading about deedee and bill so you can get to the bit where jessica does something.

basically the jist is that deedee and bill have broken up. i mean everyone thought they were the perfect couple! except jess of course, who already tried to date bill on at least 6 other occasions. so everyone is like, that's so weird that those guys broke up, but not so weird when you find out that for the past few months deedee has basically thrown her whole life away and made her entire existence about bill's life. she pretty much follows him around like a lap puppy, makes plans around all his plans and doesn't do anything else. no wonder bill is like - wth girl! 

the whole rest of the book is basically deedee's character journey from total loser to confident single babe with loads of interests, and wouldn't you just know it, but at the end bill is like - oh yeah i forgot how great you are and [SPOILER!!!] they get back together.

how lame.

but seriously, this is a great message for us ladies. don't let your man define you and girl power and stuff.
